Automated Setup

The easiest way to set your computer up is to save our setup program to a disk and run it on your computer. You can download the setup program from http://www.rraz.net/rraz.exe
To set up your Internet connection and use our free banner-ad blocking service, use the AdZap setup available at http://www.rraz.net/rraz-adzap.exe

If you are unable to use the setup program, you can follow the instructions below to set the connection up manually.

Manual Setup

Windows Vista
  1. Click on the Windows button (Lower left corner, Windows task bar.)
  2. Click on Connect To in the column on the right.
  3. Click on Set up a connection or network at the bottom of that window.
  4. Choose Connect to the Internet.
  5. Click Next.
  6. If you see "You are already connected to the Internet" and you are already connected to the Internet with Red River, but "Browse the Internet now" isn't working, call tech support for help with the issue. Otherwise select Set up a new connection anyway.
  7. If you see Do you want to use a connection that you already have? and you have already created a connection with Red River, call tech support for help with the issue. Otherwise select No, create a new connection.
  8. Choose "Dial-up"
  9. In the box labeled Phone number: type the <modem phone number> for the nearest city. The correct number for your area can be found on our web site under Access Numbers.
  10. Type your <username> in the User Name box.
  11. Type your <password> in the Password box.
  12. If you want to save your password, check the box labeled Remember this password.
  13. In the box labeled Connection name:, you can either leave it as "Dial-Up Connection" or change it to something more destriptive such as Red River Internet. (This has no effect on your ability to connect.)
  14. If you computer is configured for multiple users, check the box labeled Allow other people to use this connection and confirm the prompt that appears.
  15. Once all of the settings are entered, click Connect. Your computer will test to connection to make sure that it works.
    1. If you see The Internet connectivity test was unsuccessful., choose Set up the connection anyway.
    2. If you see The connection to the Internet is ready to use., choose Close.
  16. Once the connection has been created, you should be able to get on the Internet. If you click on the Windows button again, your browser (usually Internet Explorer) should be available. Use that to connect to the Internet and begin browing websites.
  17. To configure Windows Mail in Microsoft Windows Vista:
    1. Click on the Windows button (Lower left corner, Windows task bar.)
    2. Click on Windows Mail. (This may be in All Programs.)
    3. If you see Your Name screen, skip to step 4.
      If the setup does not automatically begin:
      1. Click on Tools.
      2. Click on Accounts.
      3. Click on the Mail tab at the top of that window.
      4. If an account already exists for mail.rraz.net, but doesn't seem to be working, call tech support for help with the issue.
      5. Otherwise, click Add, then click Mail.
    4. Your Name screen: In the Display Name box, type your <name>, as you would like it to appear on outgoing e-mail messages.
    5. Click NEXT.
    6. Internet E-mail Address screen: Type in your <e-mail address>
    7. Click NEXT.
    8. E-mail Server Names screen:
      1. From the drop-down list My incoming mail service is. select POP3.
      2. Type mail.rraz.net for Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server.
      3. Type mail.rraz.net for Outgoing mail (SMTP) server.
      4. Click NEXT.
    9. Internet Mail Logon screen:
      1. Select Remember password
      2. Type your <username> in the Account name box.
      3. Type your <password> in the Password box.
      4. Click NEXT.
    10. Click FINISH.
