Q: What things should I do before calling tech support?
Q: What is the difference between my account name, username, or login name?
A: Your account name, username, and login name are different words, all meaning the same thing. For example, if, when you signed up, you told us you would like your username to be jsmith, that would also be your account name and login name. (Note: Look below to see how this affects your e-mail address.)
Q: What is my e-mail address?
A: Your e-mail address is dependent upon your username. For example, if your username is jsmith, your e-mail address would be either jsmith@rraz.net or jsmith@redrivernet.com.
You can use both rraz.net and redrivernet.com interchangeably. They both point to the same thing, and go to the same mailbox. We have no plans to phase out either option. The @rraz.net or redrivernet.com portion of your address can only be changed to its counterpart. The portion to the left of the @ symbol can be changed by changing your username.
Q: Can I use capital letters in my username and password?
A: When you sign up, we enter all lowercase in to the system unless you specify otherwise.
Your username is not case-sensitive. It won't matter if you type a capital or lower-case letter in your username. You could, for example, use JSmith as your username.
However, your password is case-sensitive; therefore, our system would not treat the password secret the same as the password Secret, which begins with a capital letter.
Q: When my browser opens, it says "Unable to locate server". What does this mean?
A: The most likely answer is that you are not connected to the Internet. Try restarting your computer first. If that doesn't help, try going through the Internet setup again using our setup disc if possible.
Q: How do I change my start page to be Red River's home page?
A: For Internet Explorer: Click Tools, then select Internet Options. Then simply type www.rraz.net/links in the space provided.
For Firefox users: Click Tools, then Options. Under General, find the section labeled Home Page and type www.rraz.net/links in the box labeled Location.
Q: How do I change my Password?
A: Changing your password with Red River Communications is fairly simple. Just go to our Account Information page and enter your current username and password. From there, choose the change password option.
It is a recommended practice to change your password frequently to prevent unauthorized access. There is no charge for this service.
